The Six Characteristics of Seeds

The Cheng Weishi Lun defines seeds by six conditions: momentary cessation, co-presence with fruit, perpetual continuation, determinacy, condition-dependence, and self-fruiting. Only the functional differentials within the ālaya-vijñāna fully meet all six. These aren't metaphors — they're real functional entities as described by Yogācāra.
