Privacy

This site keeps no devotee accounts, does no tracking, and shows no advertising; browsing it sets no cookies. The only thing you give the temple is a ceremony registration you fill in and send yourself; this page says plainly where it goes, how long it stays, and how to reach it.

Ceremony Registration: Where It Goes

What you enter on the registration page — names, email, phone, the names on the tablets, and your note — together with the registration number and time of submission, is kept in the temple's registration ledger (a database hosted at Neon, which the guest office uses to place tablets and to reconcile offerings and receipts), sent by email to the guest office's inbox (office@wakentemple.org, a Google Workspace mailbox), and confirmed by one email to your own mailbox. The information serves only this ceremony: placing the tablets, dedicating the merit, reaching you, and mailing the receipt. It is not used for marketing and is not sold, lent, or shared with third parties; the site keeps no copy outside the ledger.

Who Handles It

The site is hosted on Vercel; server logs briefly hold technical request data (time, status, and — to resist abuse — a hashed network address, cleared within a day), never what you entered. The ledger lives at Neon; email is sent through Google Workspace. These three act only as the temple's processors and may not use the data otherwise. Online offerings are collected on Clover's secure payment page; no card number passes through this site or reaches the temple. Please never write a card number in any field, email, or text message — a field that looks like it carries one is refused outright, and should one slip through, the temple deletes it on discovery.

Retention and Deletion

A registration is kept for one year from the day of its ceremony — for reissuing receipts and checking dedications. On the night that year ends, the site's scheduled sweep deletes the registration and its office records from the ledger and leaves a deletion receipt holding only registration numbers; by that receipt the guest office clears the matching mail from the office inbox, number by number. Every change the office makes to a registration is recorded with who made it and the values before and after, and is deleted together with the registration. You may write to contact@wakentemple.org at any time to see, correct, or delete your own registration (please include the registration number or your name); the temple verifies and answers within thirty days, and a deletion clears the ledger, the office records and the mail alike.

The Office Door

The site has an office used only by temple staff. Staff sign in through a one-time link mailed to the temple's own mailbox; once signed in, the browser holds one sign-in cookie valid for fourteen days (it identifies that session and tracks nothing). This cookie appears only for staff who sign in; ordinary visitors and registrants receive no cookie at all.

Everything Else

The rooms of practice, the Dharma Hall, and the Scripture Pavilion record, store, and transmit nothing. Links to the canon at waken.org leave this site; following them is your own passage. The email link on the correspondence page only opens your own mail program; no letter passes through this site.
