Flow and Graduated Teaching

Flow theory: optimal experience when challenge matches skill. Too hard: anxiety. Too easy: boredom. The Buddha's graduated teaching — giving → morality → heavenly rebirth → confirm vessel → Four Truths — is a perfect challenge-skill calibration. Your inability to receive deeper Dharma may not be the Dharma being too hard — your attention (skill) hasn't caught up with its depth (challenge).
