Cease All Evil, Cultivate All Good — The Sequence Matters

After harmful action, the correct response: stop. Don't continue, don't feed it soil. You can't erase the seed — but you can starve it. Meanwhile, wholesome seeds bear their own fruit. "Cease evil first, cultivate good second." Many want to reverse this — do lots of good, then feel they have "credit" for occasional wrongdoing. That's not practice; that's negotiating with causation.
